Firefly Tour

After the fruit farm visit, we boarded the bus again for a 2-hr trip for dinner and the firefly tour. The firefly tour was a boat ride on the river close to the mangrove swamp. According to the guide, it seems that this firefly hide-out was found out by a Japanese and he brought the tourist business here. Japanese came in hordes to see the fireflies in an natural environment. Very soon, they had boats making regular trips round the river for tourists.

Photo of the sunset while waiting for the firefly tour to start. Had to wait for it to bcome dark before we can set off. In the meanwhile, we chatted and took photos of each other for self entertainment... Photo below shows the boys having fun by playing with the life jackets.

The fireflies were very pretty... If you have seen the Shinjuku illumination, you will know what I mean... It looks exactly like the illuminations lights during Christmas time. Oh yes... and not forgetting to mention the little adventure we had when our boat broke down in the middle of the river... A little small sampan motor boat dragged us back to the port and we transferred boats in the middle of the river... What a scare!

Okay... Finally done with the Desaru trip... Can get back to posting about my Sept 2005 Japan trip... Hahaha~
